The Mother Wound refers to the trauma that comes from a difficult relationship with your mom or mother figure. It can manifest in various ways, impacting self-esteem, relationships, and overall well-being. This can impact you if your mom was absent, deceased, or even if your mother was present yet emotionally unavailable / abusive in any way.

i was a wounded woman

I used to play the “strong black woman” but lacked confidence + emotional balance. I was a professional people pleaser. Always putting others before myself and staying in toxic relationships with 0 boundaries.

At work, I jumped in my Alpha Woman bag down to the lining! Working in tech, I was competitive, ruthless & overly focused on titles / achievements.

I thought maybe if I “won” at work, the imposter syndrome would go away. It didn’t. I wore a mask of leadership while criticizing my talent, body and more.

I had to confront what was really hurting me.

I grew up with a busy executive mom and while she loves me, her absence early in my life due to frequent work travel left me feeling like I wasn’t a priority. Between that and being separated from both of my grandmothers at 7 to migrate to the US…That created wounds that I battled for years.

Doing the work I share in this class changed my own life. It helped me repair the relationship with my mom. It allows me to show up everyday, imperfectly but feeling worthy. Ready to serve + receive the blessings with my name on them!
